What You Get From A Fotofacial Las Vegas

By Sandra Jones

As people get older, it is only natural that they want to fight any signs of aging. You can buy creams, serums and other treatments, but they do not always work, and those that do generally only work for a limited time. If you want a longer lasting solution to your aging issues, then a Fotofacial Las Vegas might be what you are looking for.

There are a variety of reasons why skin starts to look old, and age is but one of them. Pollutants in the environment is another reason, as is excessive sun exposure, particularly if you did not always use sunscreen. You may start to get age spots, fine lines and possibly even wrinkles. Some people also experience blood vessels that pop or appear to be very visible beneath the skin. The texture of your skin may be rough or uneven as well.

Intense pulsed lights, or IPLs, are lights that have been in use for skincare procedures for quite some time. However, fotofacials use a much improved version that gives you better results, making this a great treatment to get.

In fact, you will need fewer sessions with your doctor compared to traditional IPL technology. The sessions themselves also generally last less time. The total time depends on how many trouble spots you want to treat, and just how refreshed you want your face to seem. The shortest time would be five minutes, though each sessions could take up to a full hour if you want a lot of work done.

The results after your first sessions will be an improvement. If you have rosacea or other redness conditions, you will see a more even skin tone. Rough patches will feel smoother, and look smooth as well. Your entire face will have a much nicer glow and you will look and feel younger.

Believe it or not, a fotofacial could actually save your life. A condition called actinic keratoses is one where the victim has rough patches. These go beyond regular rough patches though, and can be scaly and eventually even turn into cancerous cells. A fotofacial help stop them from turning to cancer.

The doctor will use a cooling treatment of some kind before and after your sessions. This serves a few purposes. One is that a topical anesthetic is usually not needed, which means you can avoid using needles at all. Also, this helps you with healing, so you spend less time recovering.

In fact, as soon as the session is over, you can put your makeup back on and go about your day as you normally would. The only real proviso that the dermatologist might give you is to be sure to use sunscreen for at least a couple of weeks after your sessions.

If you have seen a dermatologist before, they probably already commanded you to wear sunscreen on the regular, so if you already are, you need not change your routine. However, if you are not currently wearing it regularly, you should definitely start. The lights do leave your skin more vulnerable to UV rays, and it is a good idea to wear it anyways so that you keep your dewy, youthful glow.
