4 ways to ensure that their children get enough physical activity

Most children do not get enough physical activity these days. With the elimination of physical education programs in schools and children spend more time watching television and playing video games, it is not surprising that childhood obesity at its highest point (and still count). Over the past 30 years, it doubled to 2012, 18% of children under 12 were obese.

During the six hours per day, on average, children spend watching television and their teams, as many calories they take does not burn. As a matter of fact, chances are eating unhealthy food calories while watching television, not only do not burn, you consume more.

So how do you ensure that your child gets enough physical activity? Here are 4 ways to help your child move:

1) Set the example

If you are not exercising regularly, how can you expect your children to do the same? You can start small by organizing a family walk every night after dinner. On weekends, do a physical activity that requires more time, like a bike ride or hike.

If you are in an area with some weather a year, opt for a family member in a gym or YMCA. Extensive facilities include an indoor pool and a jogging track, and several exercise machines and free weights. Ask if your gym offers during the year or not, Pilates, Yoga such, Zumba, etc. Several sites on your membership include free or charge a nominal fee to participate.

Not only show you your child the importance (and fun) can be exercise, but you will get the physical activity they need too.

2) Limit time in front of TV and computer

As previously stated, time spent watching television and playing video games is time spent in physical activity. Each child must receive at least 60 minutes of some type of physical activity. Make sure that your child will be time for physical activity, no favorite.

3) Schedule physical activity

As the old saying goes, "What is envisaged, he becomes." Without scheduling a block of time each day on the calendar, it's easy for time to be replaced by something else, or forget to exercise, or simply decide not to. However, when it is there, written, it is harder to ignore.

4) Encourage participation in sports
