How To Look After Your Virgin Hair Wigs

By Sarah Morgan

Wigs can make styling your hair more versatile. You can easily change how you look from one day to the next one. Due to how they are highly functional and the fact that you are going to spend quite a bit of money on them, you should know how to look after your virgin hair wigs, so that you can make the most use of them. Here is how to do it.

Be quite gentle when you are brushing the extension. You should first put it on a stand, so as to make it easier for you to brush it. Then get a comb that is wide toothed. Don't use a fine combed brush, as this can pull out the strands. Before you start brushing, detangle the strands with the help of your fingers. Then, start brushing from the tips of the strands as you head towards the scalp. Hold down the extension with your hands as your brush.

You need to wash the extension on a regular basis. How frequently you wash will depend on how dirty it gets. This will depend on a wide variety of conditions, such as the humidity level and amount of dust and dirt that you come into contact with. Washing helps to avoid buildup of residue on the locks and it will add an extra shine to it.

Before you wash it, you need to first detangle it with your fingers. Wash with cold water. Do not bunch it up together or scrub it with your hands, as this can damage it. Instead, swish it around in the water. Use shampoo and make sure that it lathers well on the extension. Rinse of the shampoo well.

A hair conditioner can make it easier to manage the extension. So, you can use a conditioner instead of using a shampoo or you can use the shampoo first, and then follow it up with a conditioner. Rinse of the conditioner with lots of water. Live in types do not have to be washed off.

Make sure that the piece has been properly dried after washing it. You can leave it out in the open to dry on its own. You can also use a towel to dry it; just make sure not to wring it dry. A blow dry machine can also be used to fasten the drying process.

How you keep the piece matters. If you use it on a regular basis, keep it on a stand, where you can easily access it. Do not bunch it up. If you only use it once in a while, find a box where you can store it. Since the extensions are highly flammable, keep way from the fire.

Use quality products on the extension, to make it look shinier and healthier. So, when you are choosing the moisturizer or conditioner to use, make sure that it is a high quality one. Avoid alcohol based products that will tend to dry the extension. Talk to the seller or other users and ask them for recommendations of products that will work well with the weave.
