Why Consider Mobile County Flu Shots

By Anthony West

It is advisable to get the vaccination at least once in a year. There has been a lot of untrue statements that engulf this topic. The mobile county flu shots are significant in a way that they act as a barrier for viral disease attack in during cold spells. A strain of virus from the influenza family is responsible for flu outbreaks during the winter season.

When you have been injected with the vaccine, the antibodies take two weeks to be sufficient enough to mount a resistance to the virus. In between those two weeks you are still susceptible to a virus as the vaccine undergoes incubation process while the antibodies are being made. Thus you should always get the vaccination at least two weeks before the cold season.

Tens of thousands hospitalization cases can be prevented when people are encouraged to get immunization to keep them from developing flu-related symptoms. This is essential to be taking the shots every influenza season because the virus undergoes antigenic variation where each season it mutates, and the vaccination drugs have to be developed a new every season. This vaccine would only take you through a single season and becomes inactive the following season.

The effectiveness of the vaccine also reduces with time. This would lessen the level of protection making one vulnerable to this viral disease. There are misconceptions that you may get the virus from the vaccine, but this is not true although some flu-like symptoms may be experienced as side effects of the drug. These sides effects are usually mild and only last for a few days.

The shots are mostly composed of attenuated viral strains which cause the immune system to respond by forming antibodies against the invader. There are usually three strains of the virus and it the work of scientist to know for sure which strain will attack so that they can make the corresponding shot.

People who have weak and compromised immune system such as the sick, the old, pregnant women and children are the ones who really should get the jabs. Injection through the deltoid muscles leads to instant reaction and has minimal side effects. The nasal spray can be used as it is considered useful with live strains but has severe side effects.

No law or anybody would ever force you to be vaccinated. However, you should keep in mind the severe symptoms and the ease of transmission before saying no to the shot. If you get infected, then all your daily activities would be paralyzed. You will not be able to go to school, work and the chances of passing it to your family are high since you would be at home all that time.

Vaccination against influenza may not give you full guarantee that you would not get the disease, but it would significantly reduce the risk of infection. This is for your safety and those who live around you including your loved ones. Thus it is better to prevent than to cure the disease.
