Planning With HCG Allowed Food

There have been many diet fads throughout the years, but one of the most extreme uses a hormone that is naturally produced in the human body, notably during pregnancy. In order for this diet to achieve the desired weight loss and fat burn, calories are severely restricted. There are also specific diet plans that use only items from an hCG allowed food list.



Only lunch and dinner are prescribed, and these two meals include a mere 500 calories. That's only 250 calories per meal, which one might think impossible. However, by eliminating all fat (no butter or oil) and relying on low-calorie vegetables for the bulk of the meal, this goal is achieved. Homeopathic HCG is taken in liquid or pellet form or as a spray.

There are four food groups from which one food may be chosen for a menu. One is protein, one bread, one vegetable, and one fruit. This means that the meal, although very restricted in calories, is a balanced one. This kind of starvation diet is not recommended by most health professionals, but people continue to try drastic methods to lose weight and burn fat.

It's odd to think that such a limited calorie intake can include bread, but the choices are not lavish or even exciting. A bread portion is one round of Melba toast or one bread stick. On such a diet, however, the change in flavor and texture might be truly appreciated.

For protein, you can choose white fish, veal or beef, breast of chicken, or a portion of lobster, crab, or shrimp. All meat and seafood will be grilled, so no added fat is needed for cooking and no nutrition lost in boiling. All visible fat must be trimmed from the meat or the calorie count will zoom higher.

Several green leafy vegetables are on the list: spinach, chard, chicory, beet greens, and green lettuce. Cucumbers, asparagus, and cabbage are allowed, as are red radishes and onions. Surprisingly, tomatoes are on the list, as are fennel and celery. This completes the list of allowed vegetables.

Fruit can be an apple or an orange. You could choose one half of a grapefruit, or several strawberries. To round out this 'dessert' menu, you can have all the coffee, tea, or water that you want. To visualize a 250 calorie plate of four items off this list, you will need to check out the calorie count per serving of each food and put them together.

Many experts say that the weight loss and fat burning that people experience with this diet can be attributed to the severe calorie restrictions. Some research says that the hormone adds nothing to the program, having no effect on metabolism, thyroid activity, or fat loss. However, many who have tried hCG feel that they do experience a lift of some sort that accelerates fat loss and makes it possible to stay with the very low-calorie meal plan. People will have to decide for themselves whether they can stick with such a rigorous program and if they find that their metabolism is 're-set' to keep weight gain to a minimum in future.
