Fun Canterbury Scrum Cap Designs

By Larry Li

I've been participating in Rugby for several years. The question I get asked time and time again is where do I get my headguards from? I've continually picked out seriously striking scrum cap and it seems that this kind of gets the interest of my team mates. I adore it, and I constantly encourage them to acquire their very own, and not merely for the security element of wearing a headguard in the sport.

It probably helps the opponent place me too, that may not be a very good factor. Being dressed in something vivid and eye catching causes you to become more recognisable. Normal team kit lets you blend in a little. Making yourself a target to the opposition seriously isn't the brightest idea. Honestly, that does not bother me at all. I would rather wear a zany design on my head than a really dull and mundane head guard.

Because I like all of the distinctive scrum cap types, I tend to acquire three or four every season. They are not greatly expensive and I like to change things up a little between games and training. What can I say? I am just a big fan! My favourite brand is definitely Canterbury since they develop the most attractive scrum caps. They have an "uglies" design which is especially eye-catching and I confess I have been through a number of these designs.

I additionally like the design of Gilbert headguards and I also have had a number of these over the years. However they never acquire quite the same level of attention as the Canterbury headguards, so I constantly find myself returning to Canterbury Scrum Caps. Each offer you very good defense however, and I think both are very good, trustworthy companies with regard to protective equipment like this.

Personally, I would never play a game of rugby without my scrum cap. Even just in friendly matches, I enjoy experiencing that additional feeling of protection. I do know they may never supply 100% security, nevertheless it's better than nothing. After hearing many of the horror stories which do the rounds in the changing rooms and online discussion boards, even if they aren't true, I made the decision quickly that I wanted to wear a scrum cap.

Being dressed in a colourful scrum cap for rugby has grown to be bit of a trademark for me personally and every one of my team mates recognize me for doing it now. There has actually been times when folk have failed to recognise me in the club bar after a match because I did not have my cap on! I understand, it may sound crazy. But it is a part of me and my own identity now so I suppose individuals find it unusual if I stray from it. Also to be honest, my scalp seems strange if I stray from this as well!
