Simple And Reliable Razor Bumps Solutions

By Joseph Sanders

For many adults, a simple shave at home often results in unsightly lesions on the skin, which is why many of them avoid it. Most of those who fall in this category opt to visit their barbers and beauty parlors for their shaving needs. However, there are many simple razor bumps solutions that can help you kick off those irritating lesions you get after every shave.

The most basic way to avoid getting bumps is to use the correct shaving technique. Furthermore, reducing the frequency of shaving also helps a lot. If you shave every day, you only make the skin covering the area delicate. You need to give your skin ample time to recover after every intense shave.

In case lesions develop on your skin, experts recommend a 3 or 4 week waiting period so that the hair can regenerate itself sufficiently. The affected skin also gets sufficient time to heal this way. Cutting longer hair is also easier than cutting short hair. Your shaving timetable should be fair to your skin at the end of the day.

Most people suffering from lesions have a habit of shaving while the skin is dry. Before using your blade, ensure you moisten the shaving are using a hot washcloth. The cloth should remain on the area for approximately five minutes. Thereafter, use a modest amount of shaving gel for lubrication. Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer that can also be used in this regard.

As stated earlier, technique is very important. Your blade should always shave towards the direction taken by your hair. Going against the grain only creates friction, which in turn causes bruising. Also avoid stretching your skin to get to those hard to reach areas. Instead, swipe them clean with a single stroke.

It is imperative that you disinfect your blades regularly. You should do this using running hot water. The resulting sterility ensures all potentially harmful germs are eliminated from the blade.

Buying a new blade regularly is also advised. Make sure you do so the moment your current one gets blunt. Some people buy new blades after as few as three shaves. Some use the same one ten times or more. The truth is that a clean blade eliminates the possibility of suffering a germ or bacterial infection that can cause lesions on your skin.

There are a couple of home based remedies that are excellent for preventing and managing lesion outbreaks. Garlic is an example of a great remedy. It is filled with antimicrobial and antibacterial compounds. Its anti-inflammatory properties also make it a darling amongst dermatologists. A couple of cloves every day should keep blade born infections at bay.

Other natural solutions include aloe vera, papaya scrub and coconut oil. Papaya scrub is a good natural exfoliator and can help get rid of ingrown hairs. On the other hand, coconut oil acts as a good moisturizer and antibacterial agent. Aloe vera, a common solution for many skin problems, has a cooling effect besides its antibacterial properties.
