However, do not choose someone simply because they are convenient, because you may end up unsatisfied.

Once you find the right therapist, you need to play an active role in ensuring you get value for your time and money. This will mean making your sessions a priority. In case you find that you will be late or cannot go in for an appointment, avoid canceling and opt for rescheduling instead. Try also, to be honest, and feel free to discuss any aspect of your life, even if you do think it is related to your problems.
